Survey on Contamination Rate of Human Parasite Ova in Soil of Play Grounds of Primary Schools in Inchon City

Abstract
|
|
|
A survey on contamination rate of human parasite ova in soil of play ground of 57 primary schools in Inchon city- was carried out from May 1st, 1985 to July 15th, 1985.
The results were as follows:
1. The parasite ova in soil were detected from 4 schools among 57 schools (7%) and from 5 samples among total 171 samples (2.90,0).
2. From the schools in Buk-gu revealed 7.4% of positivity and 1.4%, from the schools in Nam-gu. There were no detections from the schools in Dong-gu and Jung-gu.
3. The average number of eggs per gram of soil of the schools was 0.0029. The number from the schools in Buk-gu was 0.0074 and that of the schools in Nam-gu, 0.0014.
4. The number of eggs of Ascaris spp. per gram of soil was 0.0023 and that of Taenia spp.per gram of soil was 0.0006.
5. Tough low is the value of the contamination rate of parasite ova in play ground soil,there always exists the posibility- of parasite infestation and consequently an adequate preventive measure must be taken.
